DAY 1
Your arrival at New Zealand’s vibrant gateway city is the beginning of your kiwi cultural awakening and an opportunity to slip into our relaxed outdoor way of life. On the morning of your arrival, you’ll be greeted at your harbour side luxury hotel by our luxury yacht for a sailing experience around the splendid Waitamata harbour.
As you enter the harbour under the shadow of the perfectly conical Rangitoto Volcano you’ll have the opportunity to view the stunning, unique Auckland city scape. So relax, take in the fresh sea air, sit back and listen to the sound of wind in the rigging and sails trimmed tight.
Waiheke Island is nestled far out in the harbour, where the scalloped tree-lined coast welcomes us at Matiatia Wharf. Lunch from the elegant surroundings of the Cable Bay Vineyard is the perfect welcome to New Zealand. Take in your new environment set amongst sculptures and unimpeded views of our harbour city, returning at your leisure by yacht or helicopter.
DAY 2
The best way to appreciate the scale and variety of this wonderful city is to explore the coastline that surrounds Auckland, making it one of the world’s great seaside urban cities.
We wind our way west to the city fringe and climb up into the rainforest of the Waitakere Ranges, before descending down to the western coast. You would be forgiven for forgetting a cosmopolitan city lay on the other side of the hill. Sweeping, peaceful, black sand beaches at the foot of the rainforest frame our view. Incredible.
Walking amongst the sand dunes, the fresh sea air will create a ferocious appetite, luckily a sumptuous harbour side seafood lunch awaits you back in the city. The eastern coast is accessed by the harbour bridge where we take in the city views from atop a volcano pocking out of the suburbs. This part of old Auckland still retains its Victorian charm so there is ample opportunity to explore as the sun sinks lower across the city scape.
Our Pure Boutique Auckland experience finishes with a private guided tour of the Auckland Art Gallery that includes the European masters Picasso, Gilot, Matisse and Mondrian, and New Zealand masters, Gottfied Lindauer, Charles Goldie, Colin McCahon, Francis Hodgkins, Grahame Sydney and Ralph Hotere.
Day 3
Fly to Queenstown at the bottom of the South Is. When you arrive you’ll wonder if you are in the same country as the landscapes and atmosphere is completely unexpected…
